Good times

A few have commented on the picnic. It went really well, and we're satisfied. We made the right amount and variety of food, and timed it right. Especially the tofu jerky which I split into two separate courses (and then brought out a few more for the late arriving periol). People brought great beer and desserts and food as well. My idea of staying out in the evening was dampened by insects. We'll have to figure out if we can do anything about that.

We invited our entire street, in what can only be described as bravado. Oddly, only one house of neighbors were at the party at a time, which was good since they wouldn't have known anyone else. And we got to meet new neighbors who moved in after we did, which was great as well. If I haven't mentioned, this is an amazing street. I'd say it's like a 1950's TV show, but it's better than that. Much warmer and more genuine.

And shmivejournal brought us a Weasel Ball as a gift. He also was able to sell a few. I'm just happy to be a part of the whole phenomenon.

And seeing our overnight guests--two of whom we haven't seen in over a year and we had to miss their weddng 6 weeks ago, was great. Always good to reconnect, and the kind of people with whom you pick up like you've just seen each other yesterday.

Today was spent recovering, cleaning, and just being happy. Nice having a day off after crazy weekends and a crazy day. Didn't get a bike ride, but took a long walk around town, which was nice.
