Sep. 5th, 2003 @ 11:48 pm Finally
The DirecTV installer was supposed to show up between 8am and noon. About 10 til noon I get a call from the installation company--the installer was having "mechanical trouble" and was going to be late. Whatever. Said he'd be here around 1.

Around 1:30 I get a call from the installer who was just leaving Fairfield. He actually got here around 2:15.

Then he had to install. Ended up with the dish on the back roof, cables running all over the house (and we needed 4 of them--2 for the TiVo, and 2 for 2 other receivers), down to the basement, and back up. He was here for 6 hours getting it all going. So my whole day was about DirecTV. (I got some puttering-like stuff done but that doesn't count as much.)

But it's here now. It's so cool. Haven't played with anything too much yet but the picture is so clear. I'm seeing things I've never seen before on TV. And the TiVo will be great. Muhahaha.

Wow, from no cable to Satellite, Tivo and multiple receivers in just a few years. We go away and you just go right to hell!

So, sould we get ourselves Tivo and DirectTV? At the next place, at least. We face East here. That why we pay $50+ a month for basic cable.

"I'm seeing things I've never seen before on TV."

I once got a pair of sunglasses that let me see things I never saw before. And then, I ran out of bubblegum...
