Some mixed feelings about this, a little fear, but mostly excitement and a sense that I can now affect positive change and do many of the things I've wanted to do for a long time but couldn't. My optimism may get tempered by reality eventually, but that's okay. I've got a good crew, a supportive boss, and hopefully will be able to line up key allies and garner support around campus. I take the word "director" seriously--it's my job to direct things, I think of it as giving people maps telling them where I want them to go, and give them what they need, and then they go and do it.
I've been at Drew for 10 years, and I have the paperweight to prove it. I'm hoping that the start of my second decade is successful.
