Kitteh quarantine

So ochoball has hyperthyroidism and instead of a pill twice a day for the rest of his life we decided to make the investment in radioactive iodine treatment.

So he went last week just before I went to Seattle. He had to stay at the vet for 4 days because he was, well, hot. He's back now, but he has to be quarantined for 3 more weeks because although he was safe to come home according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines, he's still, well, hot. So he can't cuddle on your lap, he can't sleep with us, and he most assuredly cannot use the same litterbox as dobiecat. In fact, we have to change his litter every day, and put it in a trashcan outside for the next 3 weeks while the cat litter is not so, well, hot.

So ochoball's only affection each day is a quick scritch on the head before I change his litter and then immediately wash my hands. Occasionally he mews--especially when he hears us upstairs--and his mews carry through the air ducts.

Both the wife and I were reminded of Bad Ronald when we heard ochoball mewing behind the door.

And the icon? That's the sign the wife made for the door. I think it's cute.
