Oct. 1st, 2004 @ 07:31 am The one remark in the debate that caught me completely off guard
The president, talking about meeting Missy Johnson, whose husband was killed in Iraq in:

"You know, it's hard work to try to love her as best as I can, knowing full well that the decision I made caused her loved one to be in harm's way."

Did the president give it up to a war widow?

He went on to say that they laughed together, and they "teared up" together, and that they prayed together.

Laughing, crying, and praying sound like a pretty appropriate response to sexual advances by Dubya...

I turned to my roommates and said "I don't find it to be hard work at all."
