We bought a new chandelier this weekend. Well, not new, but one from an antique store (note: antiques in Red Bank are much cheaper than in Somerville or Summit--this was less than half the price of an almost identical one we saw in Summit.)

It has 10 sockets. That would be 400-600 watts of power to light conventional incandescent bulbs. As you know, I care about such things, and investigated dimmable compact flourescent candelabra base chandelier bulbs. 9 watts a piece instead of 40. I'm so cool. I'm a little concerned about how it will look--they're a little thicker around than incandescents. I think though it will look fine, perhaps even a little postmodern. I will put pictures up when I get the bulbs and install the chandelier.

dimmable flourescent candelabra base bulb?

(Link)
I've been searching and searching for candelabra base dimmable flourescent bulbs and didn't think they existed until I saw your journal. The link provided is not live. Would you please let me know where you puchased these bulbs?

With Thanks,
Susan
